A pattern starts to form. It's time to leave the house, and again I hear a combine harvester in the distance. When harvesting actually begins, I'm going to be very paranoid.
But here we go again.

This time they stayed even closer to home, with no fence climbing required.
This time, too, instead of collecting them I tried a new technique and made them walk to their new home.

This is now my preferred method. It's less stressful on the bees and the beekeeper alike, and they go straight into their new home.

Hopefully this will be the last swarm of the year, because we have rapidly run out of hives. We were only expecting one this year, planned for two, and rushed to find a solution for three.
However, Three Hives has been born, and our journey has truly begun.
